Descripción de trabajo: Mediante técnicas electrofisiológicas, inmunohistoquímicas, bioquímicas y de biología molecular estudiamos la participación de los canales ASIC (acid sensing ion channels) en la fisiología y plasticidad sináptica. En particular estudiamos la expresión y regulación de los canales ASIC en el dolor y sus implicancias para la enfermedad de Fabry caracterizada por la acumulación de glucoesfingolípidos en los tejidos incluyendo los nervios periféricos y las neuronas de la vía del dolor.
